Ella completed her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She then pursued an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University, where she worked under the mentorship of Dr. Mehdi Nikkhah. Her research focused on utilizing microphysiological systems to model the glioblastoma tumor microenvironment. Following her master’s degree, Ella moved to the University of Rochester in New York to pursue her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Alayna E. Loiselle and Dr. Danielle S.W. Benoit. During her Ph.D., she developed a tendon-targeting drug delivery system aimed at promoting tendon healing pharmacologically. In August 2024, Ella joined the Wilson lab, where her research will focus on the design and application of polymeric and lipid drug delivery platforms to activate the immune system for cancer therapies.
Outside of the lab, Ella enjoys painting, playing the piano, and cooking.
