Emily presented the CFTC Model at The Eddy New England Chemistry Education Research Conference at Tufts University. What a great conference, thanks so much to the organizing committee for hosting. Over the last few months, Carmen, Kamila, Melanie, Ria, Wendy, Emily, and Yi Jin adapted the intensive workshop to a 3 hour introductory version. Today we presented Fueling Education Transformation: The Dynamic Chemistry of Community-Based Learning at the Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE) at the University of Kentucky to 22 chemistry faculty from across the country!

The CFTC Workshop was a huge success! 13 practitioners and scholars gathered from across the country to share ideas and best practices, and inform the future of how Chemistry for the Community will continue to evolve and serve as a hub for collaboration and dissemination of ideas related to CBL in undergraduate chemistry education. We are pulling together the final details for the first CFTC Workshop happening July 10-13 at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine! The workshop is pulling together participants from all over the country, from diverse institutions and backgrounds. The goals of the workshop are to share resources and best practices in chemistry CBL so that all participants leave with enhanced CBL materials, and also to give leading CBL practitioners the time and space to work together on disseminating some of the ideas and strategies discussed. One product of the workshop will be enhancements to this website – stay tuned!
